2010 AHA Guidelines were updated and released on October 18, 2010.  Instructor Updates are available for Instructors through the AHA Insructor Update.  Current Instructors need to complete this prior to attending their renewal class.

Notice:  Wyoming Medical Center will no longer be a Training Center. They will become Training Site as of January 1, 2012.

Please direct any concerns or Instructor issues about WMC Training Center/Training Site directly to the HUE Training Center Coordnator.

When teaching First Aid with Healthcare Provider two cards must be issued.

Healthcare Provider exams will be emailed to Instructors who have sent a copy of their  2010 Guidelines Update Certificate of Completion.

The Optional Heartsaver exam will be emailed to Instructors in "Good Standing" upon request from the TC Coordinator.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support writPleaseten exam will be emailed to Course Directors/Training Center Faculty and Training Site Coordinators upon request ONLY.

PLEASE remember  that you are still required to attend a renewal class.  You MUST purchase a HUE Instructor Renewal Guidebook prior to attending a renewal class if the Faculty does NOT provide it.

No rosters will be processed until the Instructor's Certificate Of Completion Guidelines 2010 is on file.

You MUST be registered on the AHA Instructor Network to access the online 2010 AHA Guidelines Instructor update.  When registering Do Not Choose HSSE.  You MUST choose only BLS, ACLS and/or PALS Instructor.

Please forward your training schedules to us so we can post on the website and communicate to your community when you will be having classes.

Reminder to get your rosters sent to the TC within 30 days of
course.  Please let students know when to expect their cards.

If you are waiting to be paid for the course let them know the delay time in advance so the TC Coordinator does NOT receive inquiries as to where their cards are when they have not been sent to the TC for distribution.

BLS and HS Instructors MUST teach ADULT CPR AED in all Heartsaver Program and the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) module.  These modules are no longer allowed to be OPTIONAL.

All First Aid modules will be taught during the Workplace/Adult First Aid Course.  There are NO longer First Aid Optional modules.  Environmental emergencies MUST be taught.  The CPR modules and the written exam and are optional ONLY.

Please watch the product orientation for the 2010 Training materials and cards on the AHA Instructor Network as it describes and explains the new formats.

Every student should have access to a provider book before, during and after an AHA course.

Guidelines changes are implemented every five (5) years.

EACH Instructor MUST receive a HUE Training Center Guidebook prior to or during an Instructor Course.

Completing the Core Instructor Course, Discipline Module and Training Center Modules are required components of the Instructor Courses.  Registering on the AHA Instructor Network  prior to being monitored while teaching a CPR and a First Aid Class needs to be completed beofre the Instructor card is issued.

Completing the Core Instructor Course is required to be completed by aTraining Center Faculty, Regional Faculty  and /or Course Director if they did not complete when they were an instructor.

All Instructors must teach at least 4 provider classes to be eligible to attend a renewal Instructor Course.

A TCF is not issued an AHA card.  An AHA Training Center Faculty certificate will now be issued and a Instructor card for the discipline they teach will also be issued.  One less card to carry in your wallet!

Once the AHA Instructor is registered on the AHA Instructor Network they may request a hard copy and an email version of the Healthcare Provider exam and the Heartsaver CPR-AED and First Aid exam.
